With the Red Ensign at her fore-, mast and the Red Flag at her stern, a Russian freighter of 5000 tons reached an Australian port recenty. She is believed to be the first ship flying the Soviet flag to enter Australian waters The crew of 36 includes four women—two engine-room hands, a cook, and a stewardess. A picture and a plaque of Lenin decorate the messroom. Shipping men said after seeing the vessel that they had been impressed by its cleanliness and efficiency, and by the magnificent physique of the crew. The captain is the only one aboard who speaks English.
