WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL

JANUARY MEETING. GENERAL BUSINESS. Cr S. C. B. Micky presided at tfie usual monthly meeting -of the Wiaipa County Council on Monday, and also present were Crs J. T. Johnson, G. 8. Clarke, W. McGee, G. S. Hall, J. W. Garland, R. J. Graham,. N. Reid, F. L. Onion, p. B. Livingstone, and T. Church The clerk (Mr T Grarit) and the engineer (Mr W G. Macky) also attended the meeting.. Roads and bridges loan: The secretary of the Loans Board ad vised, that after due consideration the Board resolved to give effect to the representations made by the Council, and agreed to a term of 20 years being allocated to loans raised under the authority remaining in respect of the unexercised balance of the roads and bridges loan of £69,6oo.—Approved. Camping ground regulations: The medical officer of health forwarded for the information of the Council two copies of the camping ground regulations extension order, 1939, No. 5, w’hich applied to the county of Waipa.—Received. Testing officer: The Commissioner of Transport advised that, pending re-organisation of the present testing system throughout New Zealand, he had referred the application for the appointment of Mr Eric Mbrgan as testing officer at Hamilton to theMinister of Transport for his favourable consideration.—-The opinion was expressed that negotiations had been proceeding for nearly twelve months. Motor drivers’ regulations: The Commissioner of Transport advised consideration was being given to the re-issue of the above regulations at an early date and to various proposals for amendment of the regulations. The writer asked for any'’ comments or suggestions relative to existing regulations or the proposed. amendments thereto.—Referred to a. committee.

Land Transfer Act notice: Thb district land registrar notified that an ordinary certificate of title.in accordance with deposited plan 28537 in respect of lots 1 and 2 of allotments 264, 267, and part allotment 268, in the parish of Tuhikaramea, would be issued under the provisions of the - Land Transfer Act, 1915. and the Council, being the owner of adjoining property, notified in order to enable it to ascertain, either by inspection of the plan lodged in the Land Transfer Office at Auckland or of the boundary pegs put in by the surveyor of the land, that there is no encroach- . ment of the Council’s property.—Received.

Traffic control: The president of the New Zealand Counties’ Association forwarded for consideration by members of the Council a memorandum of traffic control, —Received.
