It was stated at Monday’s meeting of the Waipa County Council that no drainage rate had been struck in the Tuatuamoana special rating area in 1938 or 1939, but same amounts of arrears had been paid. Arrears still outstanding totalled £330, of which about £250 to £260 was considered to be recoverable. It was recommended by the finance committee that the arrears be collected, by Court process if necessary, and to impose a rate of 3d in the £ for the new year. Previously the rate was 4d.)
