Apparently the intention of the Waipa County Council to provide for the operation of sanitary and plumbing* by-laws, at the instance of the Health Department, applying over an area within a radius of Te Awamutu Borough, is not now acceptable to the Department. It was stated at the County Council meeting on Monday that as an alternative, it wqs recommended that the Council prepare a plan showing the lands in the proposed area, and adopt such a plan as would be found more workable in operation than one showing a strict radius of two miles, the point being made that administration would be much more difficult with a radius than if specified properties were scheduled. The Council set up a committee, comprising Crs. S. C. Macky, J. T. Johnson, G. S. Hall, W. McGee and G. S. Clarke, with the clerk and engineer to investigate and report to the Council.
