SALE AT FRANKTON. FAT SHEEP IN GOOD SUPPLY. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reports as follows: Sheep: At Frankton sale on Tuesday a full. yarding of all classes of fat sheep came forward, but owing no doubt to the large offering prices were slightly easier in all sections. Vendors met the market in most instances. A medium yarding of fat lambs found bidding keen, values remaining firm at late quotations. Cattle: Only a medium yarding of ox beef was penned, with values on a par with last week’s sale. An entry -of medium prime bullocks from Glencoe Farm, Ohaupo, made £lO 15s to £lO 7s. A large entry of cow beef the majority being second quality, was yarded. Values for both prime and second quality were on a par with last week’s sale. Boner cows came forward in large numbers, and here, too, late rates were maintained. An average offering of vealers found firm values, but large runners were slightly easier. Pigs: Another large entry of all classes met keen competition for baconers and porkers, values remaining fully equal to last week’s quotations. Stores and weaners showed a marked improvement on late rates. We quote; Sheep: Heavy prime fat wethers 23s 6d, medium prime wethers 19s 3d to 21s 6d, light and unfinished 18s to 18s 9d, prime maiden ewes 19s 6d, medium fat ewes 15s 6d to 17s 9d, light 13s to 14s, prime wether hoggets 19s 9d, heavy prime lambs 24s 6d to 275, lighter 19s fid to 21s. LAMB AND WETHER FAIR. Reporting on their annual lamb and wether fair at Kauroa on Tuesday Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited state:— A very heavy yarding of lambs and a good entry of wethers sold steadily. The sheep were in quite good condition, and some pens of really tip-top lambs were offered, including a draft from MA 1 J. L. Y. Martyn, which topped the sale for shorn wether lambs at 17s 2d. Several good drafts of ewe lambs were keenly sought, and realised to 19s. The top lines of 4tooth wethers were practically fat, and made to 21s 3d. The whole entry was sold, and although sellers were expecting, in some cases, more money, they met the market, and all round quite a. satisfactory sale was held. Fat and forward 4-tooth wethers made 20s lOd to 21s 3d, forward 4-tooth wethers 18s 3d to 20s, others 16s 6d to 17s 9d, 2-tooth wethers 16s Id to 17s 6d, small 2-tooth wethers 14s 6d to 15s 9d, fat and forward shorn Rcmney wether lambs 16s 6d to 17s 2d, woolly ditto 15s to 15s 9d, medium shorn ditto lls to 12s 6d, small shorn ditto 8s 6d to 9s lOd, forward black-face shorn lambs lls 5d to 13s 6d, medium 9s 6d to 10s 3a, small 6s 6d to 8s 9d, good woolly Romney ewe lambs 16s 6d to 19s, shorn ditto 16s 6d to 18s, medium ditto 12s 6d to 13s 6d, cull lambs 5s to 7s 6d.
