COMMENCING TO-NIGHT. “THE STORM.” A real live outdoor picture full of virility, is “The Storm,” which heads • r - bill at the local Kegent Theatre ..lie programme commencing tonight. Charles Bickford, Barton MajLane, and Andy Devine have important roles, and this should be sufficient to ensure good patronage, for alt three are popular and talented. With them are Nan Grey, Frank Jenks, and Toni Brown, and when we say that “The Storm” is classed as second only to “Spawn of the North” it is an indication of its worth. AT THE EMPIRE. COMMENCING TO-NIGHT. “CONDEMNED ' WOMEN.” Popular and versatile Sally Eilers is the principal contributor to the absorbingly interesting story “Condemned Women,” which is the feature of the current programme at the local Empire Theatre. With her are Louis Hayward; Anne Shirley, Lee Patrick and George Irving, so that there is a very capable cast. “Condemned Women” has to do with life in a women’s prison, and it is apt y described as a sensational drama of hearts in bondage. Women in that prison live in a torture of hate and fear, as a heedless world moves on. “Condemned Women” is a R.K.O. Radio picture that should be seen by iT adults.
