HALL FOR NGAROMA
SETTLERS AND MILL WORKERS ENTHUSIASTIC. ENCOURAGEMENT FOR EARLY START. A meeting of’settlors and employ-, ees of Messrs Smyth Bros, and Boryer’s mill at Ngaroma was held at the mill early in the .month to consider the matter'of erecting a social hall in the district. The meeting was enthusiastic about making an early start with the work, as the necessity foi‘ stich a building is apparent to all. A committee was formed under the leadership of Mr Geo. Meldrum, and already the preliminary work is well under way. A subscription list has met with ’ a ready response, making definite encouragement for an early, start with the erection of the building. A cheque and letter of commendation have been received from Mr W. J. Broadfoot, M.P. for Waitomo.
