Mr A. G. Laloli, of Te Awamutu, is at present indisposed at Raetihi, recovering from a bout of influenza. Mrs W. P. Locke, of Pakura Street, has returned from a visit to Hawke’s Bay. Miss Islay Wright, of Te Awamutu, has been visiting Matamata as the guest of Mrs E. W. Garland. Miss Eileen Stewart, of Masterton, has been transferred to the Te Awamutu telephone exchange. The Hon. P. Fraser, Minister of Education, and party, plans to go on to Te Kuiti after the ceremony this afternoon at the local Intermediate School. The engagement is announced between William Trevor, youngest son of Mr and Mrs J. R. Flay, “Oaklands”, Te Rahu, and Elsie, only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Emett, of Great South Road, Ohaupo. The engagement is announced of Leslie, only son of Mr and Mrs A. W. Hare, Springfield Road, Milton, Otago, and Grace Elizabeth (Bonnie), younger daughter of Mr and Mrs T. F. Graham, Turoto Road Otorohanga. Mr J. D. Kerr, the newly appointed clerk of the courts, at Te Awamutu and Cambridge, arrived in Te Awamutu this morning from Palmerston North, and has taken up his new duties. **
