TE ANGA STOCK SALE. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd., Hamilton, report as follows on their Te Anga stock sale held on Wednesday:— A large entry of cattle came forward, meeting with very spirited competition. Buyers were there from as far south as Awakino and most parts of the Waikato. Prime heavy Hereford steers to £9, lighter to £8 ss, fat Hereford cows to £7 Bs, vealers to £2 19s, heavy boners £3 7s to £3 15s, lighter'up to £2 19s, killable eows £1 19s. A line of 22 18-month Hereford steers o/a A. W. Shaw Esq. met very keen competition and were finally realised for £4 7s. All classes of younger cattle hardened at this sale. A very good line of Holstein in-calf heifers came forward o/a Messrs Stokes Bros. These met with very keen competition and realised exceptionally good prices. CLEARING SALE AT TE AWAMUTU. Newton King Ltd. report holding an extremely successful clearing sale on behalf of Mr Allan Bowler, Paterang’i, Te Awamutu on Thursday. The 36 cows came forward in first-class condition and were keenly competed for by a large bench of buyers, the average over all being £lO 2s 6d. Early calving cows sold from £9 10s to £l4, the sale being particularly consistent. A line of Jersey-Friesian cross heifers attracted considerable interest, selling from £9 5s to £lO ss. • An Ayrshire bull realised £10; yearling heifers sold to £3 10s. An aged mare realised £l7 10s, with a 10-year mare at £2O. A large collection of sundries and implements sold very freely at late rates. RABBIT SKIN SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., Dunedin, report as follows: A large offering was submitted on Tuesday of approximately 60 tons. There was a large attendance of buyers, and competition generally was irregular and at times dragging. The market showed a weaker tone, due principally to American limits, which were reduced considerably. Purchases for Australia were also smaller. Reports from London market of late have not been too encouraging, and values are below New Zealand parity. The Sydney sales have also recently showed a decline of from 2d per io. Ltd. report having conducted a sale of the annual draft of 2-year Jersey heifers on account of Mr D. E. Finlayson, of Tuhikaramea, on Thursday, when the offering came forward in good condition and met keen competition from a representative bench of buyers. A total of 124 heifers was sold and averaged the satisfactory figure of £7 10s. Choice quality Jersey heifers in forward con-

dition £lO to £ll 15s, good quality heifers £8 to £9 15s, later calvers £6 15s to £7 17s 6d, smaller £5 5s to £6 ss.

MORRINSVILLE STOCK SALE.

New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd., Hamilton, report as follows on their Morrinsville stock sale, held on Friday:— Cattle: After being six weeks on the road the advertised line of cattle exWairoa came forward in first class condition and penned up in pleasing order. We also yarded a consignment of steers and heifers ex-Whaka-tane and these also arrived in good condition. From the outset there was bidding on all lines up to a point, the result being that there was a total clearance. Two and a-half and 3year Hereford steers, straight line, up to £5 6s, 18-months to 2-year ditto to £4 17s, 3-year P.A. steers carrying fair condition to £5 17s, P.A. heifers £3 10s to £4. Boners were yarded in large numbers and met a steadj’ market, prices being on a par with late Frankton rates. Prime empty heifers £3 12s 6d to £4 16s, heavy boners £3 9s to £4, lighter £2 16s to £3 ss, killable cows £1 18s to £2 Ils, bulls up to £6 3s. Sheep: A small yarding of sheep, comprising mostly breeding ewes, met a poor demand. Lambs were yarded in small lots and sold to 7s 6d.

Pigs: Light to unfinished sorts 26s to 335, store pigs 7s 6d to 9s 6d.

NGARUAWAHIA STOCK SALE.

New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited, Hamilton, report as follows on their Ngaruawahia stock sale, held on Friday:— There was a good yarding of cattle of all classes at our sale to-day. Boner cattle and light fat Jersey cows were in keen demand and prices were slightly better than late rates. Young serviceable bulls were in good demand and a total clearance was effected. A large entry of dairy cows and heifers comprising medium good quality to inferior sorts. Young early calvers met with spirited competition and a good sale resulted. Light fat Jersey cows £3 15s to £4 ss, light fat Jersey heifers £3 15s to £4 7s 6d, heavy boner cows £3 4s to £3 17s, medium boner eows £2 6s to £3 2s, young serviceable bulls £4 7s 6d to £5, vealers £1 13s to £2 7s 6d young July calvers £7 to £7 10s, young August calvers £6 to £6 15s, r.w.b. Jersey heifers £7 5s to £8 2s 6d, 2year r.w.b. Friesian heifers £B, 2year Jersey heifers August calvers £6 to £6 15s, inferior sorts £4 5s to £5.

TE AWAMUTU STOCK SALE.

Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report on their usual tri-weekly stock sale at Te Awamutu as under:—

Sheep: A medium yarding, prices fully up to late rates for all classes with fat sheep firmer. Medium fat ewes 15s to 15s fid, medium fal wethers 18s to 18s 6d, ditto h.f. 18s to 19s, heavy fat lambs to 245, medium ditto 15s to 16s, light 12s to 13s 6d, fleshy store lambs 8s 6d to 10s Id, ditto 5s 10s to 6s 9d, ewes r.w. Southdown rams 12s 9d, cull ewes 3s to 3s 2d.

Cattle: A medium yarding with values firm for quality ox and cow beef. Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., Hamilton, report having held their usual Ohaupo stock sale on Friday when a good yarding of cattle came forward. Prices were firm on late rates. Small fresh conditioned steers £5 15s, fat Jersey cows £4 to £5, light ditto £3 10s to £4, boner cows £2 to £3 10s.
