TE RAU=A=MOA NOTES
YOUNG MAN’S PAINFUL ACCIDENT. Mr Sexon Tripe, of Te Rau-a-Moa, met with a painful accident on Sunday morning. While practicing chopping for the forthcoming sports, he slipped and fell on the axe, which inflicted an ugly gash on the side of his. nose. After receiving medical attention, including several stitches in the wound, Mr Tripe was removed to a private hospital in Te Awamutu. Though progressing favourably, he will probably be an inmate of the hospital for a week or so. The Public Works Department has resumed work on the Hauturu Road. A gang is at work crushing metal on Mr R. C. Honore’s property, and conveying it several miles along the road. When completed, there will be a metalled connection between Te Rau-a-Moa and Otorohanga, through Honikiwi. The road winds through some fine bush scenery. Miss Collier, of Auckland, is spending a holiday with Mrs A. W. Bums, Te Rau-a-Moa.
