BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

REUNION AT KIHIKIHI. The Ladies’ Guild of the Presbyterian Church, Kihikihi, celebrate their 21st anniversary next Wednesday, August 3rd. An interesting programme of events has been mapped out and everything points to a successful day. The great birthday gathering is to commence at 1.30, when musical items and appropriate short speeches will be given. A number of former ministers and presidents of the Guild have signified their desire to be present. These include the Rev. and Mrs W. J. Brabyn, Te Kuiti, and the Rev. and Miss Dorothy Smith, of Manurewa, and it is hoped the Rev. W. J. Berry, of Wanganui, and the Rev. W. H. West, of Mangere, will also attend. Mr Berry was stationed at Kihikihi 21 years ago, and it was while he was there that the Guild was formed. A large birthday cake will be cut and all present will be the guests of the Ladies’ Guild at afternoon tea. A bring-and-buy afternoon is also arranged for the same time. In the evening 23 members of the Waikeria Entertainers will give a wonderful programme in the Kihikihi Town Hall, to conclude the day’s events.
