“CITV GOLFERS”
SHOULD IMPROVE THEIR OWN ROAD. Reference was made at Monday’s meeting of the Waipa County Council to “city golfers.” Cr Onion, referring to the desired improvement of Vardon Road, Te Rapa, objected to imposing extra expense on the riding ratepayers to provide a road for city golf players. That, he said, was by no means fair. The road was not even a county road, but was classed as a riding road. If the golfers wanted better access they shou.'d be prepared to pay for it. After some further discussion it was decided to seek a conference with the Hamilton Borough Council, and the Golf Club with a view to reaching agreement. Waipa County representatives will be Crs S. C. Macky, T. Church, E. F. Peacocke and F. L. Onion.
