CLEARING SALE AT KORAKONUI. What must be considered one of the most successful Clearing Sales held in the district for many years, was conducted by Messrs Newton King, Ltd., on the farm at Korakonui, on Monday, when Mr N. M. Lethbridge disposed of of the whole of the cows from his two dairies, comprising 120 Jersey and Jersey cross cows, 40 2-year Jersey and Jersey cross heifers and 40 yearling heifers, horses and pigs. The extremely satisfactory average of £9 2s 6d resulted. A feature of the sale was the brisk and well-sustained bidding from an extremely large bench of buyers, cattle going to Te Awamutu.JDtorohanga, Cambridge and Matangi. The cows came forward in gootJ condition but no calving dates or butterfat returns were available. The two-year heifers, though small and backward, met with a ready sale bringing from £6 2s 6d to £7 10s; the weaner heifers realising £3 13s. A five-year gelding realised £4O, eight year mare £33; two other aged horses bringing £2O and £25. Strong competition was witnessed on the large entry of sows, realisations being from. £4 10s to £5 17s 6d. The whole of the large offering was put through in under three and half hours, speaking volumes for the extremely satisfactory * arrangements made for the handling of the sale. FRANKTON STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited report on their weekly sale held at Frankton on Tuesday last, when a medium yarding of both fat and store sheep came forward. Competition on all classes of sheep was somewhat dull prices being easier than at recent sales. Following is a range of prices: Sheep: Prime fat wethers 30s 9d to 325; medium 27s to 295; good store wethers 24s to 265; light store wethers 21s to 235; prime fat ewes 18s to 225; lighter 16s to 17s 6d; prime fat lambs £1 to £1 3s; lighter 16s to 18s; store lambs 12s to 14s.

Cattle: A full yarding- of all classes of cattle came forward resulting in an easing of values all round. Prime heavy fat bullocks £l2 10s to £l4 17s 6d; lighter £lO 10s to £l2 ss; prime heavy cows £8 5s to £9 10s; medium £7 to £8; lighter £5 to £6 10s. Boneis £3 to £4 10s; others £1 10s to £2 15s. On account of Mr C. D. H. Rout we offered two pens of outstanding vea'r ers which made £4 2s, £5 2s, £5 ss, ££ 12s; others from 30s to £1 15s.

Pigs: Only a small yarding of pork, bacon and store pigs came forward. Heavy baconers £4 2s to £4 8s; medium baconers £3 10s to £4; light baconers £3 to £3 9s; heavy porkers £1 10s to £2 19s; rr.ediim porkers £2 2s to £2 8s; light porkers 36s to £2: good store pigs 19s (id to 255; medium stores 15s to 17s 6d; good slips Ils 6»1 to 13s 6d; weaners 6s to 10s 6d. CLEARING SALE AT KIO KIO. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., advises having held a clearing sale at Kio Kio last Monday on account of Mr E. W. Tozer. A good bench of buyers was present, representative of the surrounding districts, with competition keen especially from Waikato farmers, who purchased a good percentage of the dairy herd. The cattle were in exceptionally good condition, and realised the satisfactory average of £lO 15s. Implements and sundries sold at usual clearance sale rates. The range of prices was as-follows: Good-quality Jersey dairy cows, July calvers, £ll to £l3 ss, August calvers £9 to £lO 11s, later calvers £6 10s to £8 15s, 2-year Jersey heifers, July and August calvers, £9 15s to £ll, choice weaner Jersey heifers £4 19s, smaller £3 7s, bulls £5 15s to £6 15s, 4-year bay gelding £4O, sows to farrow £2 10s to £3 3s, store pigs 12s to 21s.
