MATAMATA STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co. report on their fortnightly sale at Matamata on Wednesday, when there was a medium yarding of cattle, mostly fat and boner cows. No sheep were penned and prices for cattle were firmer than late quotations, with keen bidding on good quality fat beasts, which sold up to £8 15s. Fat cows and heifers realised up to £6 110 s. Stores were penned i n fair numbers and heavy boners reached £4 10s. Cattle: Heavy fat cows £7 5s to £8 15s, medium fat cows and heifers £5 5s to £6 12s 6d, heavy boners £4 to £4 10s, lighter sorts £2 to £3 3s, cull dairy cows from £2 10s to £4 10s, poster bulls £3 17s to £7 3s. Pigs: There was a good yarding of fat pigs comprising- for the most part porkers with a few pens of very good baconers. There was a very heavy yarding of store pigs, every pen bo’ng filled. The advertised line of breeding sows on account of Mlessrs- Dunlop and Sheridan came forward and a total clearance was effected at satisfactory prices. The highest price paid for baconers was £4 9s. Prime top-weight baconers £4 7s to £4 9s, prime heavy baconers £4 2s to £4 7s. heavy baconers £3 18s to £4 2s, prime medium baconers £3 10s to £3 18s, mjedium baconers £3 5s to £3 10s, prime lights £3 to £3 ss, light baconers £2 15s to £3, prime heavy porkers £2 10s to £2 15s, heavy £2 5s to £2 10s, medium £2 to £2 ss, medium ditto £1 15s to £2, prime light porkers 30s to 355, light ditto 25s to 30s. choppers £2 10s to £3 7s. All classes of fat pigs sold freely. Store pigs (good quality) 20s to 255, medium 15s to 20s, small l’Os to 15s, good slips 8s to 12s, good, weaners 7s to 10s. On account of Messrs Dunlop and Sheridan the advertised line of sows realised from £4 to £5 15s.
