Using a heavy charge of explosive that completely blew the door off the safe thieves were not very handsomely rewarded when they broke into the Horotiu Post office early yesterday morning. This was the third time that the Post office had been burgled within a short period and for the third time there was little money in the safe. The thieves were not disturbed although the noise of the explosion wag heard several hundred yards away. Admission was gained by the burglars by use of a jemmy on the back window, the framework being badly splintered. No precautions were apparently taken to deaden the sound of the explosion.
