Mr and Mrs R. L. Hancock and family of Mokoia (Taranaki), arc at present visiting Mr and Mrs E. W. Hancock, of Young Street. Mrs Miles Otway, of Wallace Terrace, is visiting* Auckland and is the guest of Mrs L. H. Otway, Arney Road, Remuera. By notice in the Gazette, Mr J. H. C. Halliday, postmaster at Raglan, is authorised to take out revenue statutory declarations under the Justices of the Peace Act. The Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Public Works and Transport, will y'sit. Morrinsville to-morrow and w.ll address a meeting there in the evening. Mrs Thomas Grant, of Mutu Street, left Auckland by the Awatea on Monday en route to Sydney, where she spends several months, v : siting her sen (Mr Hector Grant) and her sister (Mrs James Orr). The engagement is announced between Josephine, youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs N. McGcttigan, Otorohanga, and Cyril Burns, youngest son of Mr and Mrs J. P. Linehan, of St. Leger Read. Mr P. T. Keam, chairman of directors of the Tauranga Co-operat:ve Dairy Association, has been re-elected unopposed to the directorate of the National Dairy Association as the representative of the South Auckland ward. The engagement is announced between Ann Ayson, daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Duncan, 30a Silma Crescent, Wellington, and Fredrick Grant Johnson, of Otorohanga, only son of Mr and Mrs W. G. Johnson, Moehau, Kamo. Mr F. Branch has returned from Whangarei, having disposed of his house there prior to taking up his residence in Te Awamutu. Mr Branch, who is one of New Zealand’s leading golfers, has been engaged by Te Awamutu, Cambridge and Taumarunui as professional golf coach.
