Later in the sitting, however, Morrow arrived, and the Court decided to re-open the case. Morrow said he was a married man with four children. He was sharemilking for Mr Prendergast a herd of 96 cows, and two of his children assisted in the shed. For two or three years previously he was sharemilking in the Bay of Plenty. On his earnings since the judgment in November 1935, he could not make any definite offer towards repayment, but he hoped to pay the debt off some time. His Worship commented that on figures Morrow would be better off on public works, where he would probably get £5 per week. An order would be made for payment of £1 per month.
