“It’s very difficult to preach bigger navies in these days,” said Commander A. D. Boyle, chairman o£ the Navy League executive, at a meeting last week in Christchurch. “There are big navies everywhere, and as foi our navy, I don’t think we could expect anything more. But what we can do is to ask that the men be provided to man them. So we ought to concen trate on the sea cadets.” It was decided to authorise Lieut. Commander R. C. E. Harding, in charge of the Navy League Sea Cadet Corps, to increase the strength of the corps to 100.
