AS REPORTED IN THE WAIPA POST ON APRIL 26TH, 1912. The telegraph poles are now being shifted back to the new alignment of Alexandra Street. Recent property sales include Mr J. Whitton’s farm at Mangapiko to Mr B. Lumley; Mr W. G. Macky’s farm to Mr J. Whitton; and Mr W. McConachie’s farm at Te Rore to Mr Summers. On Tuesday a deputation, headed by Mr J. B. Teasdale, was introduced to the Prime Minister by Mr J. A. Young MjP., to further a request that a Hying survey be made for a light railway between Te Awamutu and Putaruru. At the School Committee elections cn Monday the following chairmen were elected: Mr Bedford (Kihikihi), Mr H. Webb (Paterangi), Mr Thos. Weal (Rangiaohia). Te Awamutu Hockey Club last night elected Mr W. V. von Sturmei president, and Mr J. H. Ansell secre tary. Yesterday Messrs G. Ahier, J. Mid diebrook and J. North, members oi the Mangahoe Drainage Board, made an inspection of the Mangahoe stream from Te Awamutu to Kihikihi. The inspection was made under very trying conditions, as a good deal of the locality is impassable.
