THE REGENT THEATRE

LATEST IMPROVEMENTS. HANDSOME LOUNGE. Patrons to the ever-popular Regent Theatre to-night will receive a pleasant surprise, for this will be the first occasion on which the new lounge will be opened to the public. Running the whole length of the building, it provides a sumptuous addition to an already well-appointed theatre, and will enhance considerably the general convenience and comfort which the management always aims to provide. The lounge has been nicely furnished by Messrs Clark and McMillan, and is heated on the same principle as the theatre itself. At the far end has been installed a confectionery and coffee stall, which shoult prove a boon to patrons, who will not be slow to appreciate the action of the management in providing for want. To meet increasing overhead expenses, theatres throughout New Zealand now charge a minimum of Is 3d per ticket, with the next admission fee at 2s 3d. The local theatre management has had to make some alteration toward this end. However, bearing in mind its past policy that prices should be kept to a minimum, the management has decided to restrict the number of one shilling seats to 325: thus there will be no alteration in prices of admission, and the remaining 475 seats will be available at Is 6d. Reserves will remain un-altered—-that is, Is 6d to any part of the theatre.
