Miss Beryl Renton left Te Awamutu this afternoon to take up a position as probationer nurse at St. Mary’s Homes at Otahuhu. The engagement is announced of Hilda Marion third daughter of Mr H. D. Dallimore, and the late Mrs Dallimore, of Cambridge, to Donald Ivan, youngest son of Mr and Mrs R. C. Clamow, of Monavale. While riding his motor cycle round a paddock on his parents’ farm near Paterangi on Sunday morning, a youth named Percy S. Gedge, employed on a St. Ledger Road farm, sustained a fracture of the right leg', necessitating his removal to Waikato Hospital for attention. Inquiry this morning shows that his condition is regarded as satisfactory. Mrs and Mrs A. H. Parish, of Hairini, who have been on a trip to England for the past eight or nine months, returned home a few days ago, arriving- at Wellington by the Awatea from Svdney, after a very enjoyable holiday. Both are much improved in health, and speak glowingly of the nleasant tour and conditions in England. Word has been received in Te Awamutu that Mr Vincent McGovern, elder son of Ml' and Mrs A. J. McGovern, Frontier Road, has completed his studies at the Otago Medical School and passed his final examination very creditably. Mr McGovern is due home in Te Awamutu this week, and we> understand he plans to join one of the provincial hospitals for further experience, ■
