CREAM CONTRACTS

HIGHER PAYMENTS WANTED. The present cream cartage problems in the Waikato were discussed at a committee meeting of South Auckland Dairy Association on Wednesday. The chairman, Mr S. A. Ferguson, presided. It was indicated by members that some action was needed in view of the fact that cream carriers were asking for higher -payments as they were having difficulty in carrying out their contracts because of increased costs. After a short discussion a committee comprising Mr A. J. Sinclair (Te Awamutu Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd.), Mr J. E. Leeson (Morrinsville Co-operative Dairy Company Ltd.), and a representative of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., was appointed to confer with the No. 1 Licensing Authority (Mr E. J Phelan) in order to arrive at a reasonable basis on which cream-carry-ing contractors should work in future.
