MOTORING COLLISION
ONE DRIVER BADLY INJURED. A collision between two motor vehicles occurred at Harapepe on Wednesday afternoon, and one of the drivers was seriously injured. From what can be gathered it appears that a light Bedford truck belonging to the Hayward Milking Machine Company, of Auckland, and driven by Mr J. Hyland, was proceeding from Harapepe towards Pirongia, when a collision occurred with a cream lorry driven by Mr Leon Paul Romame, of Te Pahu, which was com ing out of a side road. The Bedlord vehicle was struck on the side furthest from the driver, but the latter was showered with broken glass, sustainmg many cuts about the head, neck, and face, and concussion. A doctor from Te Awamutu wa* telephoned tor, and on arrival he rendered first aid and had Mr Hyland brought to a private hospital in Te Awamutu, where his condition on Wednesday evening was regarded as fairly serious though not critical.
