WORLD’S DAIRY FARM
NEW, ZEALAND’S PRE-EMINENCE New Zealand is frequently called the dairy farm of the Empire, but a study of recent figures compiled by the International Institute of Agriculture at Rome, would indicate that this small country of ours might well be termed the dairy farm of the world, for these 'figures reveal the fact that New Zealand holds pride of placet as -an exporting country of both butter and cheese for 1935. The four leading countries of the world as far as the export of butter, for 1935 is concerned are:—
New Zealand . Denmark L... Australia Netherlands ... 312,403,0001b. ... 304,900,0001b. . 250,769,0001b. 103,146,0001b. The four leading cheese exporting countries are:— New Zealand 193,487,0001b. Netherlands . 134,597,0001b. Canada 55,722,0001b. Switzerland 40,248,0001b.
