CAMBRIDGE STOCK SALE. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report as follows on their Cambridge stock sale, held on Monday.—Fat and store cattie : An exceptionally large yarding came forward. Most were stores, fresh conditioned and light fat Jersey cows, but a usual scattering of heavy beet was included. The general range Of prices advanced to a marked extent and everything changed hands freely. We quote: Heavy Shorthorn cows .£7 5s to £8 10s, good quality S.H. cows £5 15s to £6 15s, heavy fat Jersey cows £4 10s to £5 10s, medium fat. £4 to £-1 7s 6d, light quality £3 5s to £4, fresh conditioned young cows £2 15s to £3 4s, heavy stores £2 5s to £2 14s, boners to £2 2s 6d, young sound empty Jersey cows £2 15s to £3 15s. Dairy cattle: A. large attend ance of buyers were competing for this class. Cows were iii the majority and the quality generally speaking was mostly plain. Bidding was keen and the whole yarding was sold at comparatively good prices. We quote: Best quality springing Jersey heifers £7 5s to £8 10s, good Jersey heifers £5 5s to £7, others to £4 15s, test conditioned young Jersey cows £9 to £10" 10s, good quality young cows in milk £8 to £lO, medium sorts £7 5s to £B, backward, aged and inferior £5 to £6 10s. Sheep: A small entry of hoggets were well sought after and prices fully maintained those ot last week’s Frankton quotations. We quote: Heavy fat hoggets 25s to 29s 6d, light hoggets store conditioned 22s 6d. Pigs: Rates in this section did not fluctuate noticeably. Stores and wean arc comprised the principal part ot the yarding, there being only a few pens of porkers and baconers entered. Steady competition prevailed right inroughout and prices were satisfactory. We quote: Medium to heavy porkers £2 2s 6d to £2 12s, light 36s io £2 2s, good store pigs 27s to 30s Gd, medium 23s to 26s 6d, slips 18s to 21s, best weaners 14s to 17s 6d, others 13s. PUTARURU STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited, report having held their butaruru Sale on Monday, September 21, 1936, when a small yarding of sheep came forward. Competition being tairly brisk, almost a total clearance was effected. We quote:—Sheep. Medium fat ewes 275; wethers to 31s; hoggets 23s to 255; pen of ewes with lambs at foot. 16s all counted. Cattle. — ( A full entry of cattle including somei good butcher cattle and many stores. Fair competition ruled, most of the yarding being cleared, prices for the quality offering being on a par with late rates. We quote:—6 good quality bullocks madei £9; fat Hereford cows £6 17s 6d; fat Jersey cows £5 10s to £6 10s; second quality £5 to £5 10s; prime heifers £5 10s to £7 7s 6d; forward conditioned cows £3 to £3 17s 6d; others to £2 10s; sound Jersey bulls £5 to £6; empty heifers £3 to £3 18s; yearling Jersey heifers to £4. Dairy cattle:—A full yarding of dairy cattle came forward comprising for the most part choice quality springing dairy heifers. The market wias firm and close up heifers showing quality met with a ready demand. Choice quality springing dairy heifers close to profit £7 15s to £8 17s 6d; smaller £7 to £7 10s- Jersey cross springing heifers medium quality £6 to £6 15s; moi 'e backward sorts £5 to £6, Ayrshire cross heifers £5 10s to £6 15s; Friesian heifers close to profit £7 to £B, choice quality calved dairy cow £lO ss; ether calved cows, according to quality £5 to £7 10s; medium quality springing Jersey cows £4 15s to £6 10s. Pigs.—A full yarding of pigs comprising chiefly large stores and slips with several pens of choice quality weaners,. large stores keenly sought after sold at up to full late rates. Slips and small stores were slightly below recent market quotations, while best weaners were read - ily sought after and sold at full late market quotations, we quote:- Large stores and light porkers 38s to £2 ss; large stores 34s to 38s; medium ditto 24s ito 30s; small ditto 16s to £1; best slips 16s to 225; small 10s to 14s; best weaners £1 to £1 4s; others 12s to 16s; choppers £1 to £1 ss; sows and litter £3 10s to £4 ss; sows to farrow £3 10s to £4 2s 6d. TE AWAMUTU HORSE SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their T'e Awamutu Horsei Sale on Monday, 21st September, as under: —There was a fair yarding and a good attendance of buyers. Prices were very satisfactory, and very full market values Wore obtained. The following were our principal sales. On account of Mr Flux 2-year-old light draught unbroken filly £2B 10s; on account of Mr C. V. Sutton 4-year-old unbroken spring carter £2O; on account of Messrs Woolly Bros, aged draught mare £27; on account of Mr A. Jamieson aged draught mare £24 10s; on account of Mir W. Saunders light draught gelding all work £4l, bay draught mare aged £35; on account of Mr Flux, Hackney mare, aged, in foal £24, 4-year-old light draught mare £4O; on account of Mr G. S.
