THE BOWLING SEASON
TE AWAMUTU CLUB’S PROSPECTS.
At a committee meeting of the Te Awamutu Bowling Club, held last evening, over which the president (Mr F. W„ Bevin) presided, four new members—Messrs F. H. Moore, W. Old, S. Beedell, and W. J. Long—were elected. Arrangements were made to open the season officially on Saturday, 3rd October. The resignation of Mr Jas. Walker from the Club was accepted with regret, he having left the district, and the consequent vacancy on the match committee was filled by the appointment of Mr J. A. Hawkins. Mr W. J. North, who has for years performed splendid work as green superintendent, and who would not accept re-appointment, was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks for his services. Mr G. O. Jourdain was appointed to the vacancy pro tern. Notification was received from the South Auckland Centre that the Te Awamutu Club had been granted permission to hold a one-day full-rink tournament on Labour Day (Monday, 26th October).
