AT THE REGENT. -FINAL SCREENING TO-NIGHT. “ DANGEROUS.’ For sheer drama and vital force there are few screen plays to equal “ Dangerous,” the Warner Bros, pro - duction which was shown at the Regent Theatre on Saturday for the first lime locally. There are a sweep and power about the picture that brought a tremendous emotional reaction to those who witnessed it. It is the kind of picture that requires an exceptional cast to make the most of the characters involved in the plot, and Warner Bros, evidently recognised this by placing in the leading roles not only players of real talent but who fit their parts with the utmost perfection. Too much cannot be said of the fine work of the principals, including Bette Davis in the title role, Franchot Tone, who plays opposite her, Margaret Lindsay, the third side of the love triangle, Alison Skipworth, John Eldredge, and Dick Foran. TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. “FRISCO KID.” “ Frisco Kid,” Warner Bros.’ thrilling tale of the glamorous Barbary coast of old San Francisco, opens at the Regent Theatre to-morrow with an all-star east headed by James Cagney, Margaret Lindsay, Ricardo Cortez, and Lili Damita. And two-thirds of the trio find romance ! Nancy Carroll, Lloyd Nolan, and Harry Langdon are the three principals, and each delivers an effective, straightforward, and convincing portrayal.
