SPRING FLOWER SHOW
WEDNESDAY’ AND THURSDAY’. A reminder is given of the spring flower show to be held at the local Town Hall on YVednesday and Thursday, under the auspices of the Te Awamutu Horticultural Society, which organisation holds spring and autumn shows locally that compare more than favourably with most other shows of the kind in the South Auckland districts. It is hoped that the exhibition this week will be in keeping with the standard already attained. An energetic and enthusiastic executive is working hard to ensure success, and patrons can rest assured that the staging of blooms on exhibition will give the best effects possible. Some exceptionally fine daffodil blooms, grown locally, will be staged, though the numbers may be fewer than last year, by reason of the fact that stormy weather conditions damaged some choice specimens. Another keen contest is expected in the cut flower section, while the displays being made by the Women’s Institute and Women’s Division in competition for the Clark and McMillan Shield should be well worth seeing.
