LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
TOKANUI BRANCH. A meeting was held on Wednesday, when members were the guests of Mrs Th.ornton Walker at her residence, Waikeria. Following the opening devotions, correspondence and business a very enjoyable social afternoon was spent. Competitions were won by Mesdames A. Stewart, Benny and Walker jun. An interlude occurred in the proceedings when opportunity was taken to make a presentation to Mrs Thornton Walker. The president expressed regret at her departure from the district, and extended every good wish for health and happiness for her voyage to England, and a safe return. As a memento and token of esteem in which she is held, the president presented Mrs Walker with a fountain pen and Eversharp pencil in a case. Mrs Walker very appropriately acknowledged her gift and the warm expressions of regard. A very dainty afternoon tea was served by the hostess.
