GUN CLUB. (Oui- Resident Representative.) The opening shooting competitions, held annually on the Island Reserve, of the Otorohanga Gun Club eventuated on Saturday afternoon in the presence of a large gathering of spectators. Although the weather was not ideal shooting conditions were fair, and the competitors in some of the events came from far afield. The following are the results of the principal events:— Six-bird eye-opener (9 starters): W. Seymour and Garvin shot the possible, and divided. Otorohanga Gun Club’s trophy, 9 birds: Scown, Seymour, and Garvin shot the possible, and the resultant shoot-off was won by Garvin. Second Club trophy (11 competitors): Seymour and Otway (of the W’aipa Club) shot the possible, and the shoot-off was won by Seymour. Sweepstake (6 birds): Otway (Te Awamutu) and Seymour (Otorohanga) shot the possible, Otway winning the shoot-off. Next Saturday the local Club will be strongly represented at Te Awamutu Gun Club’s opening shoot. PERSONAL. Miss Nora Rothery, of Te Kuiti Road, Otorohanga, of the staff of the Mater Hospital, Auckland, is spending her annual leave with her parents. Mrs W. Rust, formerly in business in Otorohanga, but in more recent years established at Waipawa and Thames, is at present re-visiting Otorohanga, where she is the guest of Mrs R. T. Rhodes, Tutanui Street. It is Mrs Rust’s intention to re-com-mence business activities in Otorohanga.
