TEACHER FAREWELLED
MR AND MRS B. E. ARNOLD LEAVE TAUHEI.
The Tauhei Hall was filled to capacity with a most representative gathering on Saturday evening to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs B. E. Arnold, who are leaving the district, says the Morrinsville Star. Mr Arnold has been head teacher of the Tauhei school since the beginning of 1930, and has been appointed to a similar position at Te Mawhai, near Te Awamutu.
In making a presentation to Mr and Mrs Arnold on behalf of residents of Tauhei, Mr J. M. Noble referred to the good work that Mr Arnold had rendered as head teacher and also as a member of the hall committee. The residents appreciated the able manner in which Mr Arnold had co-operated with the school .and hall committees for the progress of the district. Mr Arnold was asked to accept a silver smoker’s stand, and Mrs Arnold a cut glass rose bowl. In responding, Mr Arnold said the years that they had spent at Tauhei had been made pleasant by the assistance rendered by the people of the district, .and it was with some regret that they were leaving.
