CAMBRIDGE STOCK SALE. The Farmers Co-op. Auctioneering Co. Ltd., report having held their stock sale at Cambridge on Monday, when a good yarding of store cattle came forward. The entry included a good proportion of cow and heifer beef, for which the demand was keen, values being fully on a par with late quotations. A pen of light fat Shorthorn cross steers offered on account of Mr E. Nickle, Maungatautari, evoked brisk enquiry a«d sold well. Boner cows sold at late rates, a to’tal clearance resulting for all classes. Dairy cattle: There was a good yarding including the advertised herd of approximately 2 if' Jersey and Jer ■ay cross cows on account of Mr J. 11. Hall, qf Karapiro. These cattle came forward in only fair condition. Competition was firm for early ealv err. showing quality, whilst poorer conditioned and later calvers, al though not so keenly sought, sold fully up to late quotations. Heifers offered on account of various clients included a number of choice quality cattle. Competition war. particularly keen and good values resulted. Pigs: An extra heavy yarding, with values ail round easier. Vendors in most cases met. the market, practically the whole entry eventually being sold. Dairy cattle: Choice Jersey and Jersey cross heifers close to profit £8 15s to £lO, other early calvers £7 to £B, Jersey and Jersey cross heifers later calvers £5 15s to £6 10s, small and poorer conditioned £4 10s to £5 ss, Friesian heifers C 7 15s to £8 15s, Shorthorn heifers £5 17s 6d to £6 ss, Jersey and Jer ,ey cross cows close to profit £7 10s to £8 ss, other .early calvers £6 5s to 7, later calvers £5 to £6, poorer conditioned £3 to £4 10s. Pigs: Choppers 37s to £2 10s, light baconers £2 13s to £3 2s, stores large 30s to 37s 6d, light porkers 28s to 325, medium 20s to 27s fid, best slips 16s to 225, poorer slips 12c to 15s 6d, best weaners 13s Gd to 18, poorer 8s to 12s, sows to farrow £2 to £3 ss, sows with litters £2 7s 6d to £4 2s 6d.

FRANKTON STOCK SALE. New Zealand Loan and- Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd., Hamilton, report as follows on their Frankton stock sale,’ held on Tuesday.—Cattle: Supplies of good beef cows were comparatively scarce. Included in our entry, however, were a number of prime but fairly small F.A. heifers. An exceptionally keen sale eventuated, and prices, especially for good to well finished quality cattle definitely improved. A pen of well finished choice quality P.A. heifers sold on account of Mr T. M. Hall sold briskly and readied £lO 10s each, the buyer being Mr W. H. Baker. For medium class fat. cows the shortage reflected in an improving tendency In rates, While boners and stores were likewise well competed for. A number ot small vealers met with a good sale. We quote: Prime P.A. fat heifers £8 10s to £lO 10s, heavy quality S.H. fat cows £6 to £7, medium do £5 7s 6d to £6, good quality Jersey beef cows £4 15s to £5 ss, medium quality do £4 2s Gd -to £4 12s 6d, light £3 5s to £4 2s fid, good conditioned store cows £2 5s to £3, boners to 37s 6d, sound young Jersey empty cows £2 10s to £3 10s, small vealers 15s to 21s. Sheep: Consequent upon an unusually small entry, a strong demand caused a very firm sale in all departments. Wethers, most of medium to good quality, predominated, hoggets being in small supply, and practically an absence of fat cows. Prices, if anything, would be slightly higher than those obtained at the previous sale here. We quote: Good quality fat wethers 33s to 365, medium fat wethers 28s to 32s fid, light do 27s 6d, extra prime fat ewes 27s 6d to 33s 6d, medium quality fat ewes 21s to 265, good quality fat hoggets 23s 6d to 26s 3d, medium to light to 22s 6d. Pigs: Baconers comprised only a very small proportion of the medium sized entry of fat pigs. Porkers accounted for almost the entire yarding. A fractional decrease in values was recorded, but a good demand existed. Store and weaner pigs aroused livelier bidding than formerly, and rates, especially for good stores, improved appreciably. We quote: Light baconers £2 Ils to £2 15s, heavy porkers £2 7s to £2 Us, medium porkers 38s to £2 ss, others 37s 6d, best store pigs 31s to 35s 6d, medium grown store pigs 25s to 30s, slips 21s to 245, good weaners 16s to 19s, small Us to 15s.
