“MEADOWLAND” JERSEYS

ANNUAL SALE. The annual sale of the “ Meadowland ” pedigree Jersey bulls was held yesterday at Otorohanga under favourable conditions and in the presence of breeders and dairymen from many parts of the province and further afield. The catalogue comprised 15 two-year-old and 25 yearling bulls by an imported sire from dams with records up to 734 lbs of butter-fat at two years of age. The bulls were a fine lot, and they entered the ring in splendid condition. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Company, Ltd., were the auctioneers, their representative, Mr C. E. Robertson, being in the rostrum. Bidding was steady throughout, indicating the confidence of dairymen and breeders in the future prospects of butter and cheese production.
