Trapped in a motor car which, leaving the road at Waingaro, about 16 miles west of Ngaruawahia, early on Sunday morning, fell 30 feet into a flooded streami, two men were drowned. Two others had miraculous escapes. The victims were:—Mr John Stevens, aged 62, widower, miner, of Glen Afton; Mr William Cole, aged 26, single, miner, of Glen Afton. Deceased we¥e passengers in the vehicle. The bodies had not been recovered at a late hour list night.
