AUSTRALIAN JOURNAL
REVIEW OF THE JUNE ISSUE. The June issue of The Australian Journal is remarkable for the quantity, quality, and variety of its fiction. Well-known and popular writers in Joyce Owen Starr, Rex Grayson, Captain F. Rhodes, Catherine Shepherd, Augustus Muir, Cam Woodford, Dulcie Dunlop, J. H. M. Abbott, Beryl Gray, Frederick Barmore, and several others have made this issue one of the best to date. An interesting feature is a competition in which £25 is offered to readers for identifying a number of world celebrities whose portraits are reproduced. Entries are free. The cookery, fashions, and radio sections are well handled; and the needlework, dressmaking and knitting departments, paragraphs, puzzles, and a children’s section complete a splendidly illustrated issue of 152 pages. Certainly Journal readers obtain plenty for their sixpence ! The publication is obtainable at all newsagents'.
