ST. JOHN’S GIRLS’ CLUB
SOCIAL EVENING. . Over forty members gathered in the club room last Monday evening, when each member had been asked to come representing the name of some wellknown person. The competition capsed much merriment, and the winner was Miss Betty Nobes. Another amusing competition of dressing a clothes peg with coloured paper to represent a fashionable lady was won by Miss T. Patterson. The remainder of the evening was spent in learning to do different forms of arts and crafts. Several of the members demonstrated while Mrs Raymond Jones had very kindly offered to do lecture work. Her help was greatly appreciated. After a little music an excellent supper was served by Misses L. Cruickshank, M. Pollard, and G. Bowden and Mrs J. Walton, who generously brought a large portion of her wedding-cake, it being her first attendance at the Club since her marriage.
