Tests to determine how fast a race track driver will react at the wheel when danger looms were made recently by the Minneapolis Public Safety Committee. It was found that a car will travel 25 feet before the driver applies his foot to the brake pedal after a given signal at a speed of 36 miles an hour.
Oil taken from the sump when a supply of fresh lubricant is to be put in may be applied to the springs with an old paint brush attached to a stick about three feet long. It will work between the leaves, and in addition to improving the riding qualities will dissolve the rust and make the springs less likely to break.
