Writing of O.B.E’s. I recall that shortly after the Great War a gentleman gave about 20,000 acres to the Government for settlement by returned soldiers. On about 19,000 acres you could not run rabbits, so steep were the hills. He was rewarded with an 0.8. E. of the fifth class.
