ST. JOHN’S GIRLS’ CLUB
A SUCCESSFUL DANCE. One of the most successful dances yet held under the auspices of St. John’s Girls’ Club was that held in the Parish Hall on Wednesday evening. The attendance was large, the hall very effectively decorated, and the music (by Ensor’s Orchestra) first class. Being the first dance of a series this winter, the committee had worked hard for success. The decorations were red and gold streamers, with balloons and tiall vases of autumn leaves, and portion of the hall was curtained off to give a more cosy effect. Miss E. Palmer and Mr W. Corboy contributed extras, and Mr E. Melville functioned as master of ceremonies. A Monte Carlo competition was won by Miss V. Jackson and Mr P. Bird, a statue log cabin by Miss J. Scott and Mr T. Dalziel, and a spot waltz by Miss M. Reilly and Mr R. Ensor. Al savoury supper added to the enjoyment of the function.
