MR H. G. WELLS
Mr H. G. Wells, in a letter to the chairman of the Old Danensians’ Club—an organisation for Doncaster Grammar School Old Boys—regretting his absence from the club’s annual dinner in London, wrote: — “I would love to come, but I am reaßy very ill and overworked, and I do not think you sturdy Yorkshiremeri would like to have me, a Kentish man, coughing and wheezing among you.”
