CANNAS

Cannas have about, completed their flowering, and growth has ripened sufficiently to enable the clumps to be taken up and divided and removed to a separate part of the garden to winter and remain till the spring, when they should be re-planted into their summer quarters. Gannas increase in size some more than others, growing into large clumps. Only reserve enough for next , season’s requirements and .discard the surplus. Taking up these plants gives the garden a tidier appearance and clears the ground, and enables them to have a change of soil, which is very beneficial to plants which take a considerable amount of plant food from the soil.
