HAMILTON STOCK SALE

The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— We held our usual weekly stock sale at the Frankton yards on Tuesday, 12th May, where we had a good yarding of fat and store cattle and pigs and a small entry of sheep. Beef barely realised the prices received the previous week, the whole yarding changing hands under steady competition. We quote:— Medium fat steers £lO to £lO 4/-, light £8 to £8 15/-, light and unfinished £7 to £7 12/-, extra prime heavy fat cows to £9 2/6, prime £6 17/6 to £7 13/-, medium £5 15/- to £6 2/-, light £4 5/- to £5 5/-, unfinished £3 5/- to £3 15/-, fresh conditioned cows £2 2/- to £2 6/-, stores 30/- to 35/-, 2-year in-calf Jersey cross heifers £4 15/-, good quality weaner steers £2 11/-, Jersey heifers, weaners, 30/-. Pigs sold at late rates: Heavy baconers £3 10/- to £3 14/-, medium £3 3/- to £3 7/-, light baconers and good porkers £2 15/- to £3, medium porkers £2 10/- to £2 13/-, light £2 to £2 5/-, unfinished 30/- to 35/-, stores 25/- to 32/-, slips 15/- to 20/-, weaners 10/to 12/-.
