DISASTROUS FIRE

FARMHOUSE DESTROYED About 4 o’clock on Sunday morning the residence of Mr M. McEnteer, at Elstow, was completely destroyed by fire. The occupants had just sufficient' time to quit the building in their night attire.,, Except for a sewing machine and a few small personal effects the contents of the house were destroyed. The owner is a heavy loser. The fire, it is understood, originated in a bedroom occupied by Mr K. McEnteer, and no cause can as yet be assigned for the outbreak. It was fortunate that two younger children were away at the time of the Ire; The insurance on the furniture was £250, but no particulars are available as to the amount of the cover on the house.
