EUCHftE PARTY

On Monday, the 4th inst., the Y.M.C.A. held a very successful euchre party, there being twelve tables in play. Mrs C. Luxton won the ladies’ first prize, Miss K. Luxton being second, and Mr McLeod won the gent/s first prize, with Mr C. Luxton second. After play the manager, Mr Parsenson, provided a dainty supper. These parties are to be run throughout the winter months, and are looked forward to with interest. TENNIS The tennis tournament is finished, the last round being played on Saturday. Mr Hethescoe won the gent.’s trophy, with Mr Garner as runner-up, and Miss Luxton won the ladies’ section, with Miss Garrett runner-up. These ladies are to -be complimented as this is their first year at tennis. GENERAL The Waitoa factory is only running once a day now, and is being overhauled. . Miss Turner, Waitoa, is starting fln up-to-date dressmaking and drapery business here, thus filling a long felt want. PERSONAL Mr and Mrs Edwards are away in Auckland spending their holidays -VVe are. pleased to see Mr Mi Is home again after his illness in the Hamilton Hospital.
