ENGINEER’S REPORT

The engineer in his report to the Thames Valley Power Board on Tuesday stated: — I have to report upon the work in the Board’s area since the last meeting on April 7th, as follows: — Paeroa Section, Bond’s Road: The erection of poles and the wiring of E.H.T. and low tension circuits have been completed. A transformer plat-' form is at present under construction. Waitakaruru: The continuation of the main line to Haly’s corner is proceeding. All the poles have been erected and the wiring of 11,000 volt circuit is in hand. Poles have been distributed along the Mahutu road and cross-arming will be commenced at an early date. The 11,000 volt cable crossing at Pipiroa has been completed and the connecting link was made alive on April 24th. ' Waihi Borough: The reticulation of the lines authoriesd in the east end has been completed. A transformer platform has been constructed, and connection made on to the 11,000 volt line to the Grand Junction mine. Supply to the Borough quarry was commenced on April 30th, and lighting consumers will be connected up during the next few days. * Te Aroha Section, MorrinsvilleTahuna: The 11,000 volt line has been extended for 1-mile to supiply Silcocks and others, and both high and low tension circuits have been wired. Transformers- have been installed at three points between Mangateparu and Tahuna and supply is available for all settlers on that section of line. Alexandra Road: A* short extension has been made to the low tension reticulation on this road, and arrangements are in hand to continue the high tension circuit on existing poles.

Matamata Section, Weeks’ Road, Waharoa: Wiring of extra high and low tension circuits has been completed during the month. In addition all service lines have been run and supply will be commenced as soon as the installation of the transformer is complete, early in May. Taumangi Road: Poles have been erected for a distance of two miles and the wiring of the 11,000 volt circuit over the first section, to Campbell’s transformer, is proceeding. Rotorua Road: The pole line is erected and wired for the E.H.T. circuit as far as the Te Papa corner. Supply will be commenced from the transformer near Chapman’s within a few days.
