NO. 8 SPRING WATER

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—lt seems an extraordinary thing that we cannot buy a bottle of this famous water in any of the shops in Te Aroha. Why? Is it not the duty of the Tourist Department to see that the mineral waters can be supplied to all who require them, visitors in particular? Why is the, Department' allowed to let this valuable advertisement slide? Is it done to put Te Aroha further off the map as a tourist resort? The Borough Council as the people’s,, elected representative has a duty in this matter also, and that is to shake up the drowsy Tourist Department to its duty towards this town. The local agent informs me that he has had to decline orders as he is unable to obtain supplies from Auckland, excepting at a prohibitive price. He states that he has been offered orders (4) from South and (2) from Sydney visitors which cannot be supplied. Again, ■nfljy ?.—I am, etc.,

A. PARKINSON.
