A Dunedin girl clerk went to a bank recently to cash a cheque for £BO for her employer. On her way back she lost the money and could not tell how or where (says the Star). She promptly reported the misfortune and naturally was distressed about it; but her sorrow soon turned to laughter, for, as it so chanced,' a resident of the city saw the notes in the street, made an inquiry at the bank nearby as to whether it had paid out such a sum, and by that process was enabled to quickly restore the money to the owner.
