The official closing of the Te Aroha Golf Club will take place on Saturday next. A mixed foursomes will be played at 1.45 p.m., and at 3 p.m. driving, putting and approaching competitions will commence.
• “All Nations Marching to Armageddon, But Millions now Living will Never Die,” is the title of a lecture to be delivered in the Theatre Royal, Te Aroha, next Sunday at 7 p.m. by Mr R. T. Reid, under the auspices of the International Bible Students Association.
Visitors to the Hamilton Musical Festival and the Waikato Hunt Club races at Claudelands will be interested to know that holiday excursion tickets available for return until October 23rd will be issued by tiains due to arrive at Hamilton not later than 12.55 p.m. on October 22nd. The Mayor of Te Ai’oha, Mr R. Coulter, visited Thames yesterday on Harbor Board business. Owing to the recent financial troubles that have arisen through the actions of the late secretary, Mr Coulter has had to spend a great deal of his time at the Thames during the last few weeks. His Worship returned to Te Aroha to preside at the public meeting in connection with the Herries’ Bequest held last night.
