Man Swept Off Boat at Mangaiti Bridge BODY NOT YET RECOVERED Word was received in. Te Aroba yesterday morning that a mau named Hargreaves, while engaged on the Northern S.S. Co’s cargo boat bound from Te Aroha to Paeroa, had been knocked overboard while the boat was passing under the traffic bridge at Mangaiti. We understand that efforts were made to ?ave him, but without avail. Hargreaves apparently swam for the bridge piles, and on hearing a call from th e boat lie turned as if to swim to tho bank, but his strength failed and he sank.
