Buy a Jersey Bull

Rather than a Milking Machine A retired farmer writes :—After listening to the plausable yarns of milking machine agents, many people go into the dairying business who would never have done so had they to milk by hand. Money is made by milking good cows, and money could be made at other jobs if people worked seven days a week. That is where the drudgery comes in, and the milking machine does not do away with it. You still have to be there 14 times a week. After 30 years’ experience in dairying I find more difficulty in getting milk into cows’ udders than getting it out. The majority of cows at sales are culls! therefore, if you want good cows you better breed them, If you want milk use a Holstein ; if you want butter, use a Jersey bull. But some people don’t know what they want, and won’t be right till they get it.
